. . . . besides having a tiny cute baby . . .
1. Helpers.
Life is great when someone else takes my big kids to school and out to do fun things, cooks and cleans, tells me to nap, etc.
2. Naps. The best naps being Sundays with the baby while everyone else is at church.
3. THE FOOD! The food that is delivered by generous friends, the take-out that is justified, the big bowl of candy that powers me through the day. And feeling like I can have it all because I need to get that milk supply up! (And because I can't even think about losing weight yet.)
4. TV. You get to sit on your duff during feedings and watch so much tv. It's so great.
5. Feeling so comfortable not having a full-size baby in your belly, and sleeping on your stomach at night.
My kids just got home so this is the end of this post.

I'm so glad it's the good life over there. Brand new babies are so great the rest of life should be too!
Woohoo, I'm so glad you're loving the perks that come with having a baby!
How on earth can you sleep on your stomach with huge, new mom lactation going on? I couldn't sleep on my tummy until I was done nursing! I'm so glad Linda is there to help you. Enjoy it and eat all the Cadbury Mini Eggs you can!
This is Linda - on Ashley's computer. (I'm too lazy to figure out how to sign in on my own name.)
I'm here, but I'm not cooking. . .we decided that it is probably a better use of my time to pick up food and spend time with the boys. That's great with me!
I guess it worked in spite of me.
I love this list. It is making me excited to have another one (which, up to this point, I haven't really been...). I am mainly excited for No. 2, the naps. I milked a good 6 weeks of no church after Mita was born, and I plan on doing it again. I may have Chuche take Mita with him every Sunday, even though he leaves at 7 AM for meetings, ust so I can have nap time with the baby just like you. I feel so diabolical, suggesting that. (Another pregnancy symptom?)
Anyway, enjoy those naps, tv, and food! You and your delicious baby deserve it!
Oh man. I completely agree. Don't you love it? Glad things are going good and you're not dying from sleep deprivation yet b
So glad mom is there to help you but send her back here already! She selfishly went to Hawaii for February. I need her help!
That is a great list. I'd love to be doing all those things right now (except maybe the baby part--still not ready for that). ;)
I relate heavily to 4. I love feeling good about tv marathons.
Oh he is so precious! I am so happy for you and your sweet family. He is a lucky little baby. I'm with you on alone time with baby during church. My husband (the family doc) demanded I stay home from church for 2 months, for the baby's sake of course :). Keep resting! And thank you for the blog updates. I love reading them!
Amen to all of that! It's SO true! Don't you dare even think about losing weight yet. Just feed that babay and keep eating as much as you want! Enjoy every single snuggly minute with that beautiful boy.
Hi Linda. I'm so glad that you're here to help. I agree, making dinner is not the fun part. Allowing Ashley to sleep and having fun with the boys is what it's all about. Grandmahood is the best!
Linda, I'm so jealous of you right now. I am aching to hold that little fur ball. Tell Ash I'm not sure she could have a girl that was cuter. Also, tell her she might really appreciate having boys, rather than girls, when the tweens hit.
Hope you had a great time in Hawaii!
I don't know why I'm addressing this to you and not Ashley.
Thank you, Pandy. We can just communicate this way!
